This summer, the inaugural Canyons Folkfest will be held in Kanab, from August 4-7, featuring international folk dance teams from Mexico and Taiwan. Festivities will include a formal mayor’s reception on August 4, a dinner and street dance on August 5, and evening performances at Kanab High School on August 6 and 7.

Dancers, musicians and directors will be staying with host families. So far, locals have volunteered rooms for around 30 performers and we need homes for 20 or so more.

This will provide families with a rich cultural experience, life-long friendships, and free admission to one of the evening performances.

If you are interested and have room in your home from August 4-7, contact Housing Director, Mark Stone, mastone71@gmail.

If you would like to support the cause, but are not able to host this year, there are other ways the festival can use your talents to help launch this new event.

Tickets for the performances are now available online at canyonsfolkfest.com.
