There are several important meetings next week, all concerning the Southern Red Sands frac sand processing plant.

On July 8, there will be a presentation by an independent hydrologist about the impact of the water usage by the Southern Red Sands’ frac sand processing plant. Time and location TBD.

On July 9, the Kanab City Council is holding a public hearing and possible vote on selling our water to Southern Red Sands. The council meeting will be held at the Kanab City Library, 374 N. Main, and begins at 6:30 p.m.

On July 10, the Kane County Planning and Zoning Commission is holding a public hearing on the county’s application for a conditional use permit for the Southern Red Sands mine and processing plant at Red Knoll Road. The county planning commission meeting will be held at Kanab High School Auditorium, 59 Cowboy Drive, Kanab, at 5 p.m.
