On Thursday, June 13, the road to Navajo Lake was damaged by spring water running under the road. The heavy snow and water that built up in the soil caused more pressure than normal and the spring undercut the road, causing the pictured damage. The damage was just west of the Navajo Lake Campground.

The Kane County road crew has been hard at work filling and shoring up the bank so the road can be completely re-opened. The crew will come back in the fall and completely rebuild that section of road.

The Navajo Lake road is open to traffic at this time.

Thanks to the Cedar Mountain Fire Protection District and Navajo Lake Lodge employees for closing off the damaged part of the road and keeping visitors safe.

Thanks to the Kane County road crew for all the work they have done on the road.
