The Kanab Outdoor Market kicked off with a bang on May 25 at its new location, Jacob Hamblin Park, and by week two the number of vendors had increased, as have the patrons.

The Kanab Arts Board voted to take over running the market this year after the volunteers running it the last two years were ready to pass the torch, but there were no other takers. Organizing the “new” market began at the beginning of the year after the vote, and by April a plan to run the market for 23 weeks, through October, took shape. In addition to moving the market to Jacob Hamblin Park, the market hours were shortened to 5 to 8 p.m. each Saturday, vendor fees were eliminated, and budget was approved to pay for live music every week.

The Kanab Outdoor Market will continue every Saturday through October on the south lawn of Jacob Hamblin Park next to the pool, rain or shine, as the pavilion on the north end will be utilized in the case of inclement weather. To be a vendor, please e-mail for a vendor application and we’ll see you at the market.
