Fresh off the press and inserted in this week’s SUN is the 2019 Southern Utah Vacation Guide. The guide is full of stories and photos of national parks, state parks, and many other exciting places along the way.

This year’s travel guide theme is “Stay Parked Here,” encouraging visitors to stick around and see what other scenic sights they can enjoy.

Visitors can make Kanab their hub to explore the area! Take a hike in the national and state parks, or try a new trail. Then return to Kanab at night to enjoy a meal at one of the great restaurants, take in a show at the theater, or go to the beautiful Jacob Hamblin Recreational Facility for tennis, skating, biking, basketball, swimming or just playing on the splash pad or relaxing on the lush, green grass.

This year’s winning cover shot was taken by Ken Koontz, of Volo, Illinois. The awesome photo was taken at Toroweap, the other Grand Canyon experience.

Others who had photos pictured in the 2019 Vacation Guide, and who will receive a one year’s subscription to the Southern Utah News, include: Steve Williams, Lisa Ladd, Stephen Dahl, Doris Scholte, Jill Williams, Jeff Frey, Kyle Brunner, Andrea Gilberg, Norm McKee and Ken Church.

Thanks to all who submitted photos in our contest, and a huge thank you to all who advertised in the guide, for without your support, it would not be possible!
