Local 4-H youth (Utah State University Extension) experienced first-hand the lawmaking process as they participated in a mock legislative session at the Utah State Capital building on Tuesday, April 17. The 4-H members presented and debated current bills on the House floor of the Utah State Capitol. These youth practice the entire legislative process by studying bills prior to the event, presenting the bills in committee, and voting to pass or reject bills on the House floor. 4-H citizenship programs empower young people to be well-informed citizens who are actively engaged in their communities and the world.
