This weekend Kanab is hosting the Grand Circle Trailfest today, Oct. 5 through Saturday, Oct. 7. Trailfest is a three-day trail-running event that takes runners to scenic trails in Bryce Canyon, Zion, and Grand Canyon National Parks. Each afternoon, runners return to Kanab for a festival full of lively activities for runners, their families, and locals!

The Trailfest headquarters and festival will be at Jacob Hamblin Park. Runners will race each morning at a different national park, and return in the afternoon to Jacob Hamblin Park for a variety of activities including a film festival, yoga classes, vendors, keynote speakers, massage therapists, running clinics, and more. All activities are open for the public with something for everyone to enjoy, so don’t miss out on all the entertainment this weekend!

Trailfest kicked off Wednesday at 2 p.m. with yoga classes and local musicians offering up entertainment while runners arrived and set up camp.

Thursday morning, the runners depart for the first race segment in Bryce Canyon. The afternoon festival begins at 2 p.m. with demo booths, massage tents, food vendors and a beer tent open all afternoon. There will be many other great activities including daily yoga classes and clinic speakers.

Following the clinic speakers will be an exciting performance by the Apache Crown Dancers. Later in the evening there will be a Night Skies presentation by Kevin Poe at 7:45 p.m. After that will be bonfires and time to relax and do a little star gazing before the runners get some rest for the night.

On Friday, afternoon activities continue at 2 p.m. after the runners complete their race in Zion National Park. There will be demo booths, massage tents, food trucks and a beer tent open throughout the afternoon.
