Alex Boye returns to Kanab for Children's Justice Center fundraiser concert
Get your tickets! Alex Boye is returning to Kanab to perform a special fundraiser concert for the Children’s Justice Center on July 24 at 8:30 p.m. at the Kanab High School football field. This amazing performance will include a special song Boye will dedicate to the Children’s Justice Center. The Kanab High School Larriettes and X-Press are also performing.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.ticketor.com/AlexBoye. They can also be purchased at the Kane County Visitor Center/Office of Tourism at 78 South 100 East. Tickets are $15 per person. Each ticket will help raise money for the Children’s Justice Center. Kids two and under are free.
With over 260 million YouTube views and counting, singing sensation Alex Boye’ is “Africanizing” the pop landscape, infusing the explosive rhythms and various languages of his ancestral continent that perfectly embodies the singer’s belief that “Music has no passport.” On his previous visit to Kanab, Boye played to nearly sold out audiences in three exciting and inspiring concerts. “We are thrilled to not only have Alex Boye returning to play another amazing concert for Kanab, but also that he is working to raise money for such a great cause,” said Danielle Ramsey, Assistant Director of the Kane County Office of Tourism.
The Children’s Justice Center is a homelike facility that serves children and families who are experiencing the crisis and chaos that follows physical or sexual abuse. The center is designed to help children feel safe and comfortable while having necessary interviews from police, social services, psychologists, attorneys, and other experiences that surround abuse. The goal of the center is to provide recommendations to parents regarding the safety or treatment needs of the child and to stabilize the crisis often experienced by the family. There is currently a Children’s Justice Center in Kanab operating at a temporary location. Construction of a permanent location will begin next year.
The Children’s Justice Center is an inspiring organization that helps the most vulnerable of children.
“Not everyone can be a doctor or a firefighter, but everyone can have the courage to listen to a child in need. I’m excited to be a part of a community full of those kinds of heroes,” said Rob Van Dyke, Kane County Attorney. “Alex Boye is an inspiring artist who will help this important cause by donating a portion of all ticket sales from his concert to the Children’s Justice Center.”
The concert is July 24 at 8:30 p.m. at the Kanab High School football field. Bring your own camp chair for seating closer to the stage. Stadium seating will be allowed, but will be farther back from the stage. Seating will begin at 7 p.m. Concessions, sparklers and glow sticks will be available for cash purchase.
