Following Kanab’s trip to Fillmore for the Old Capital Invitational Track Meet last weekend, boys’ team coach Levi LeFevre spoke about the young athletes.
“Ours is a very young track team with some hard working athletes who have continued to show solid improvement throughout the season. A standout performance this meet was Payton Dryva with a two second improvement in his 400 meter performance.
“Since our team is so inexperienced, we are trying athletes in many different events to find the best fit for their skills. The athletes have responded well and we are making great progress in finding everyone’s niche.
“Part of the team’s success can be attributed to seniors Patrick Luo and Bailey Stubbs, who lead not only by example, but with an extraordinary work ethic as well. We look forward to seeing what these young athletes will accomplish in coming years, as well as how they finish out the 2017 season,” said Coach LeFevre.
