KHS wrestlers tough on the mat
The Kanab High School wrestling team is off to a great start this season. On Wednesday, Dec. 14, Bryce Valley, Milford and Piute met in Kanab to take on the Cowboys. Kanab wrestlers showcased their skills by winning 11 out of 13 matches. It was pin after pin after pin, as Kanab dominated with all 11 wins ending in a pin.
Kanab wrestlers kept the momentum rolling when they traveled to St. George to participate in the Thunder Holiday Duals. They went head to head with nine different teams. Varsity wrestlers left everything on the mat during each match. Three of our wrestlers – Cody Stubbs, 106 lbs., Dylan Bistline, 113 lbs., and Alan Raddatz, 195 lbs. – ended with records of 8 and 1. John Sims, 152 lbs., finished the day at 8 and 2. Other wrestlers ending up with winning records were Kadin Jones, Dustin Bistline and Angel Warino.
Come rally behind the Cowboy wrestlers as they take on their next three opponents at home: Kanab vs. Cedar on January 10; Kanab vs. Panguitch on January 18; and Kanab vs. Dixie on January 24. At each of these home meets, there will be door prizes given away throughout the night, including three Kindle Fires. So come pack the stands, show your Cowboy pride, and be ready to make some noise for the Kanab Cowboys!
