Valley High School wins 1A State Golf Title for second straight year
After an incredibly motivated performance, the Valley High School Golf Team has captured the state title for the second year in a row. A two-day competition was held, on May 17-18, in Soldier Hollow, to determine the 1A state golf champion. Upon completion of the first day, the Valley team was behind by several strokes, but came back to win on the final day.
The six-man team consisted of Trey Milligan, Kade Cox, Chevy Spencer, Cobe Reck, Isaac Stout and Jaden Reck. Reck claimed first place in the state, naming him the MVP two years in a row. Also placing for Valley were Stout in sixth place and Reck in 10th place.
The Valley High School girls were represented by Heather Roundy, who did an outstanding job and took fifth overall for the girls.
The team received some spectacular coaching from Coach Heaton, Coach Peterson and Coach Stout, which undoubtedly helped the golfers reach their full potential.
Valley High School had a great year in golf by winning the Region Title and now the State Title due to hours of hard work and dedication. Congratulations golfers!
