Kanab has many things to offer visitors, and many of them are not as well known as they should be. KJZZ TV-14, considered a leader in entertainment and outdoor TV, arrived in Kanab recently to fill-in a little of that information gap, by filming three Kane County expedition leaders for an episode of “Inside the Outdoors” airing this spring.

Dreamland Safari Tours, Paria Outpost & Outfitters and Alderman Slick Rock Adventure Photographic Tours were their choices for the upcoming episode. The KJZZ cameraman got quite an eyeful of the incredible beauty so additional episodes are being considered.

Each of the three expedition groups has their own unique personality, and their own specialties. Each takes visitors off the beaten path and has excellent, responsible guides who offer something special to visitors and local residents wanting to see more and know more about this incredible part of the world.

Local high school student Derek Robinson joined the filming at Alderman Slick Rock Adventure Tours and participated in the afternoon of filming on Skutumpah Road to Willis Creek. Robinson is part of a growing local high school initiative called Little Hollywood Productions, supported by their talented teacher Joshua Baird.

In an effort to bring back an awareness of southern Utah as a prime region for filming, these dedicated students are developing their own talents. They  expect to offer Kanab, and southern Utah, a full-service production company supported by other seasoned experts in the film industry living here in Kanab. It is a great thing to see such initiative among the students, the incredible beauty of this region and the Expedition Leaders who show it off so well, presented in notable TV show.
