The Fredonia Summer Softball Men’s League Tournament was the place to be last week! Monday night’s games were fierce, with underdog KCSO Hogs starting with a slim win against Red Rock R&R, 23-22. The Lynx battled Dirt Stars for a big 28-15 win, and in the final game of the evening, Lotsa Motsa eliminated KCSO Hogs 16-13.

Pouring rain kept the teams from the diamond Wednesday, but Friday, the lights stayed on until 1:30 a.m., as the teams made up for lost games.

Friday night’s games were packed with non-stop excitement, beginning with Red Rock R&R taking the win against Dirt Stars 28-23. The loss put Dirt Stars in fourth place in the tournament.

The battle continued with Lynx Fuel beating Lotsa Motsa 19-15. Lotsa Motsa slid into third place with a loss against Red Rock R&R, who dominated the field, beating the pizza pros 32-13.

As the night cooled down, the tournament heated up! The battle for first place was in full swing with Red Rock R&R giving Lynx Fuel their first loss of the tournament 23-16.  Because it was Lynx’ first loss, one more game had to be played to determine the champion. The final game, which was played into the wee hours of the night, gave Red Rock R&R the opportunity to shine. Beating Lynx 40-21, the team earned the Fredonia Men’s League Championship trophy for the second year in a row! Congratulations Red Rock R&R!

Thank you to all the teams, volunteers, sponsors, spectators and supporters for making Fredonia Men’s League Summer Softball such a fabulous part of our community’s summer!

Co-ed games continued on Tuesday and Thursday after almost a week of rainouts. Tuesday night began with a forfeit from the Outkasts, giving Honey’s a win. Buckskin then fought for a win against Amerigas Hitless Wonders 9-8. Finally, Subway Meatballers continued their winning streak, beating Judd Auto 15-5.

On Thursday night, Thunder Mountain played a great game, but eventually lost to ACI 15-10. Honey’s gave Amerigas Hitless Wonders their second loss of the week 25-19.  Finally, Judd Auto teammates away fighting fires forced a forfeit against Buckskin. In the true spirit of co-ed summer softball, the teams pulled other players together to have a great, just plain fun, game.

The Fredonia Summer Softball Co-ed Tournament is just around the corner! Final games are August 20 and 21. The championship is anyone’s game; don’t miss out on a moment of the fun!
