Diamonds & Denim to benefit Kane County students
The Kane Schools Foundation for Students has some excellent auction item offerings for its dinner/auction fundraiser, “Diamonds & Denim,” to be held this Saturday, October 8, 2011.
The live and silent auction includes a certificate for four lift tickets at Brian Head Ski Resort, four tickets to Disneyland, and a certificate for four lower bowl tickets to a Utah Jazz home game (this will be honored whenever the NBA season starts); lodging stays at Zion Lodge and Little America Hotel; two massages at Aman Spa, a hot air balloon ride with Bryan Hill, the 2010 winning pilot at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta competition; a Red Rock Ride Horseback adventure through the largest, most beautiful national parks in the world; fine art from local artists Julie Rogers and Cyrus Mejia; a Barry Glazier photograph; several finely crafted quilts; two half-day Colorado River float trips; restaurant coupons, gift baskets and more.
For something new, the auction will feature one “Bidder’s Choice” format, where the winning bidder will choose between two fantastic vacation options.
The first is a four night/five day stay in Dunderry Chateau du Gravier, a 60 room neo-gothic castle (1890) set on 160 acres in the village of La Guerche sur L’Aubois, near the historic cities of Bourges and Nevers in the heart of France. The stay is for up to four people, and includes a continental breakfast of French pastries each morning and a gourmet French dinner prepared every night.
The second choice is a six-night/seven day stay, for up to six people, in a three bedroom, Tybee Island, Georgia beach house on the water, with a white sand backyard and a Jacuzzi on the porch with a view. The gated home on a quiet street is within walking distance to shops and restaurants and is 20 minutes from historic downtown Savannah
The live auction will be conducted by the fabulously entertaining Master Auctioneer Vern Ratzlaff.
Dinner music will be provided by music students under the tutelage of teachers Linda Ghidossi-DeLuca (Kanab High School) and Robert Lacey (Valley High School). Dinner will be served by Parry Lodge, for which patrons will pay $25 a plate at this fundraising event to benefit the students of the Kane School District.
We are excited to present this event to the community. A classy evening of homegrown fun, “Diamonds & Denim” has something for everyone. And everyone benefits from investing in the education and future of our children.
