Utah/Arizona ATV Club eighth annual ATV Fun Run
This year’s Fun Run will take place over an approximate 30 mile course on the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument located on the North Buckskin Mountain area about 23.5 miles east of Kanab just south of US Highway 89. During this fun event, each ATV rider buys a poker card, rides to five locations along the well marked route and draws chips to complete the card. The ride takes the riders through the beautiful southern Utah landscape with an easy rider difficulty rating.
Winners will be awarded various prizes after the run is complete. Included in this year’s event will be a split-the-pot cash drawing available to all participant’s. The staging area is just off US 89, 23.5 miles east of Kanab. The turn off to the staging area will be signed as will the approved ATV Fun Run route. Soft drinks and lunches ($5 per person) will be available at the staging area.
It is during this event our membership and the many participants (more than 200 last year) come together to enjoy the beautiful color country of southern Utah. We are expecting many other ATV enthusiasts from the tri-state area to take part in this year’s ATV Fun Run. We invite you, your family and friends to come and enjoy this Fun Run along with us.
The Utah/Arizona ATV Club is a long established non-profit organization with more than 80 members coming from southern Utah, and northern Arizona. With membership from other areas of Utah, Arizona, Nevada and California, we take pride in our fellowship activities among our membership and enjoy riding our ATV’s through some of the most beautiful ATV trails of southern Utah and northern Arizona. Our club is involved in many community service events often supporting our local schools and students, and other community charitable organizations.
Recently the club obtained approval to develop a staging area in Johnson Canyon that will give access to the Hog Canyon trails and other numerous trails and roads northeast of Kanab. This new staging area opens the opportunity to enjoy trails and roads to locals and visitors interested in a variety of outdoor activities.
The club provides instructors in cooperation with Utah Parks and Recreation teaching OHV certification courses. The club pays the tuition for the kids needing the certification. Youngsters are taught the safe and responsible use of OHV’s within their communities.
The Utah/Arizona ATV Club enjoys the support of the City of Kanab, Kane County and the Kane County Travel Council, the BLM along with the Grand Staircase National Monument in putting this Fun Run together. We thank the many businesses who offer contributions and sponsorships which ensure the success of this annual event.
We look forward to seeing you at this year’s Utah Arizona ATV Club Fun Run.
