Following graduation from Kanab High School in 2010, Craig Brinkerhoff has been attending USU-CEU in Price, Utah. As a member of the baseball team, he led the team to the quarterfinal game in the Scenic West Athletic Conference Tournament held in Carson City, Nevada recently. He finished the season by hitting three home runs in the conference tournament, ending as the conference home run leader with 17.

Brinkerhoff was chosen by the coaches as Scenic West Conference Player of the Year. Although his team only had a 19-39 record, he led the conference in several categories during the season. Some of his stats for the year include: a .376 batting average, 173 at-bats, 65 hits, 9 doubles, 9 triples, 17 home runs, 53 RBIs, .827 slugging percentage, and 17 stolen bases.

For comparison, last year’s SWAC Player of the Year, Bryce Harper of the College of Southern Nevada, was the number one pick in last year’s Major League Baseball draft.

Craig is the son of Brent and Jeri Brinkerhoff of Kanab. He will now be deciding which college to attend to pursue his career and education. There are many Division 1 schools that would love to have him. There’s also a chance he may be drafted.
