Annual Holiday Magic Light Parade sets community aglow
The cold, wet weather didn’t keep residents of Kanab and Fredonia from showing off their Christmas spirit during the annual Holiday Magic Light Parades. This year the community joined forces to bring the joy of the holidays to both towns on one spectacular evening.
Beautifully decorated floats and other participants lit up the night and inspired spectators as they traveled through Kanab and Fredonia. Many parade entries began in Kanab, helping raise money for Toys for Tots to bring Christmas to local families in need.
Floats then made their way to Fredonia, where Main Street was lined with red-cheeked, smiling faces waiting for the big man himself. No one was disappointed, as the remarkably floats were followed by Santa riding atop Fredonia’s new fire engine.
After the parade, Santa stopped at the Fredonia Fire Station to hear the requests of all the good little boys and girls of the community. Delicious chili, cornbread, hot chocolate and cookies were served, as Santa spread his goodwill and Christmas cheer.
The best floats for the evening were announced – the Judge’s Choice first place was “Borderville,” with the Town Council a close second, and the Marshal’s in third.
Best Use of Theme were: first place ADOT, second place Toys for Tots and third place Headstart.
The Grand Prize float for the parade was the Headstart Parent Committee. Congratulations to all participants!
An enormous thank you to all participants, volunteers and donors for making this year’s Holiday Magic Parade such a huge success!
