Foundation offers T-shirt to celebrate KHS 100th birthday
In conjunction with the ongoing celebration of the Kanab High School centennial birthday, the Kane Schools Foundation for Students will be selling a beautiful, newly designed T-shirt, beginning at the 2010 Symphony of the Canyons and KHS “Carnival at Christmas” Festival Market & Fair, to be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The Kanab School graphic was created by talented local artist and Kane District Art Teacher Joshua Baird, from a very old photograph of the school, as it was attended by local kindergarten through twelfth grade students from 1917-1955.
Baird generously donated his artwork to the Foundation for this special project. The graphic was then reproduced in a complex screen printing process by Xtreme Graphics, a southern Utah company that offers water based screen printing products with a 100% lifetime guarantee, and is a proud supporter of community public service and public education entities. The company generously donated a significant portion of their services to the Kane Schools Foundation for this special project.
The shirt will be available in sizes small to extra-large, and will sell for $20. It will make a great Christmas present for Kanab school alumni and anyone with fond memories of the school on the hill under the ”K.” The proceeds will benefit students through the non-profit Kane Schools Foundation for Students, created to improve and enhance educational opportunities for the students of the Kane District.
