The Kanab 8U baseball team competed in the Cal Ripken State Tournament held in Kanab last week. The Cowboys played two pool play games on Tuesday, winning both games. This put them as the number one seed in the tournament on Wednesday.

The Cowboys played North Sevier in the semi-finals, beating them 21-8.

The championship game put them against the Richfield Wildcats and the outcome was similar to the first game. The young Cowboys completed the two day tournament by beating the Wildcats 25-9 and advancing to the Western Regionals in two weeks.

The Regionals will be held in Scottsdale, Arizona. Teams from California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah will play pool games for three days and then a tournament to crown a champion for the Cal Ripken 8U division. The boys will be holding a fundraising yard sale on July 16 and 17 at the old Kanab Country Auto. Please come and support the boys in their efforts to raise money for their trip.
