Fredonia’s youth came to learn proper road safety and enjoy the bike course on Saturday at the fire station. After registering the bikes and checking to be sure each was safe with properly inflated tires and tightened chains, Officer Bayden Grover led the group through the rules of the road. Afterwards they were tested as they rode through the safety cones.

Participants learned about stop signs, cross walks, railroad crossings and more. Those wearing helmets were rewarded with a free soda from Short Stop, proving it pays to be safe!

Fredonia Head Start was on hand celebrating the Week of the Child, complete with delicious chocolate chip cookies and reminders of their registration for the upcoming school year.

It was a beautiful day for a bike ride and a great learning experience. Thanks to all who participated and made this a successful and safe day!
