The North Kaibab Ranger District of the Kaibab National Forest will host a public meeting on Tuesday, March 16, to solicit input regarding Highway 67, otherwise known as the Kaibab Plateau-North Rim Parkway.

The district is looking specifically for ideas about what types of amenities, interpretive opportunities, or recreational or cultural resources to preserve or develop along the byway. The input will be used to craft a vision statement for how the public would like the highway to look in five to 10 years.

The meeting is part of the district’s effort to develop a new corridor management plan for this national scenic byway. The previous plan was implemented in 1998. This public outreach meeting is a required step in the district’s process of applying for funds from the Federal Highway Administration to develop a new plan.

The meeting will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, in the North Kaibab Ranger District Office at 430 S. Main Street in Fredonia. Everyone is welcome.
