Donkey basketball coming to Valley High School
Once again, the Long Valley FFA presents donkey basketball on March 26 in the VHS new gym. The senior class, the Long Valley FFA young farmers and ranchers, plus the Kane County Sherriff’s Office, will be contending for the title of Donkey Basketball Champions while seated on the backs of some stubborn donkeys.
Be there by 7 p.m. so you can be sure and get a seat. You may also want to check out the concession stand. There will be lots of food available for the public to purchase.
The tickets for children are $5, students $7 and the adults $10 per person. If you want to save some money, buy in advance from the FFA students at a reduced price of $8, $6 and $4. A great plus for Veterans - any Kane County Veteran will be honored with free entrance to the Donkey Ball game.
Hee-Haw! Word has it all team players have been trained extensively for this monumental event. Team coaches want to be ready, physically and mentally. Rumor has it some professional rodeo riders will team up to give a few tips to team members.
Donkey Sports, Inc. of Entiat, WA, will be providing the donkeys and the officials. Donkeys are not abused in any way, shape or form. However, the same cannot be said for the players, as the donkeys have been known to abuse the riders.
Now, if you personally act like a jackass occasionally, this may be the time to enjoy a fun sport with the animal at the advantage. Come on out and enjoy a fun evening on March 26 at 7 p.m. in the new gym.
