Mayor Kim Lawson and the Kanab City Council spent nearly three hours in Executive Session prior to a very brief public meeting on February 24.  Although details were not yet available, the city council agreed in principal to revised water works agreement between the city and the Kane County Water Conservancy District.

In a second motion, it was decided to accept the Emergency Management System ground and hanger lease for the county’s proposed building at the airport.

City Attorney Van Mackelprang was commended for his work on this agreement, which, when signed by all parties and the insurance coverage is reviewed, will clear the way for construction to begin on the facility.

Merit pay increases were awarded to city patrolmen Gordon Robison and Richard Radidatz, along with public works maintenance technician, Gary Hall.
