State drill was held on February 1, 2019, at UVU in Orem. The 2A South Region Competition was held the week prior in Kanab.

Enterprise swept the region competition, winning first in all three categories. Much to the dismay of the team and hometown spectators, Kanab placed second in everything. After that disappointing blow, the team sought to find the energy to fight and the hope that a state championship was still possible. With only seven days to make that happen, the team went to work.

Led by five seasoned seniors, Nellie Bowman, Maesen Clegg, Jamie Keller, Ruby McCowan and Kaylee Snodderley, the team found the determination to fight until the end. They watched film, made slight choreography adjustments and tightened all their movement. The victory was sweet and surreal! The team is thrilled to go down in history as the first Kanab drill team to win a state title.

Not only do these girls have moves, they have brains too; they were awarded as the Academic All-team. This prestigious award is given to the 2A team with the highest accumulated GPA in the state.

Congratulations ladies! We are all so proud of you.
