Public invited to meetings on revising Kaibab National Forest Management Plan
The Kaibab National Forest is hosting two public meetings this week to provide information and receive input on the forest’s management plan revision process. The meetings will include a short presentation summarizing the forest’s plan revision process and what has been completed thus far, a question-and-answer period, and an opportunity to provide comments and discuss ideas.
The meetings will be held at the following locations and times:
•August 26, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Williams High School, Culinary Arts Classroom, 440 S. 7th St., Williams. The classroom can be accessed directly from the northwest corner of the school. (Look for the raised roof.)
•August 27, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Fredonia Elementary School Cafeteria, 221 E. Hortt, Fredonia.
Following the public meetings, there will be a series of topic-based, small-group workshops and online meetings in order to craft the language to be included in the proposed Kaibab land management plan. Once a proposed plan has been drafted, it will be circulated for further input and feedback.
