As we make final preparations for the Grand to Grand Ultra 2018 (seventh edition), we take the opportunity to look back on all the races since 2012, as well as forward to this year and beyond.

The Grand to Grand Ultra is firmly established as one of the world’s great foot races and a large part of that comes down to the local support which we receive from the community of Kanab. It seems the community’s welcome to our athletes (this year they will come from 23 countries) gets better every year. As we have come to love the town of Kanab over the last eight years, we know it’s the people in this town who find it easy to provide such a warm welcome that make all the difference. Thank you!

We have supported several charities and causes over the years. In Kane County, we support Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and the Children’s Justice Center. We have connections with both. Best Friends has kindly permitted us to run part of the G2G course through their land since 2012 and former CEO Gregory Castle is an accomplished endurance athlete and G2G finisher. Best Friends has also provided G2G with support transport and the venue for the awarads party. Our wonderful Kanab coordinator, Sandy Kerr, who is also a founder and driver of the Children’s Justice Center, was the reason we got involved in that important local project.

We have just launched registration for G2G 2019 and are now accepting entries from all over the world. We are once again offering two free entries into G2G 2019 for two lucky residents of Kane County and Fredonia. The eighth edition of the Grand to Grand Ultra, America’s only self-supported ultra-marathon stage race, which starts from the Grand Canyon, covering 170 miles over seven days, takes place September 22-28, 2019.

Would those interested please submit their applications to G2G by no later than September 30, explaining in an e-mail of less than 100 words, why they should be chosen for one of the two scholarships. Please send the e-mail to colin@g2gultra.com. You will then receive a reply from us explaining the terms and conditions of the scholarship.

Once again, thank you Kanab for your support and warm welcome to G2G participants
