On a night so long ago, in a village far away,

A newborn babe was lying in a manger filled with hay.

Mary held the tiny head and shepherds bowed in awe,

At the sound of angels’ voices, and the things the wise men saw.

And a star shone brighter than had ever shown before,

And angels were singing round about the stable door.

The shepherds were watching far away on yonder hill,

Marveling at Bethlehem, lying oh so still.

Suddenly the world knew peace and everlasting love,

For God had sent his precious gift, the Savior from above.

The wise men saw the shining star, glowing from the east,

Followed the brilliant light, feeling joy and peace.

Traveling as best they could, came the three wise men,

Bringing gifts to the newborn king, who slept in Bethlehem.

And a star beamed brighter than ever show before,

And angels were singing round about the stable door.
