Kanab, Utah, was a long drive from Michigan City, Indiana, for the McCoy family, but they believe they’ve found their home.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be here,” said Melissa McCoy. She and husband Nate recently relocated to Kanab with their two youngest sons. “We moved here because we wanted to live out west. Kanab has really welcomed us newcomers!”

The McCoys are newcomers with benefits – they’re bringing a new business to Kanab! Introducing Desert Air Heating and Cooling!

With 20 years experience in the business, the McCoys are willing and knowledgeable to help with your heating and cooling needs.

Back in Indiana, Melissa opened and operated a successful property management company that Nate was licensed through. Both businesses grew exponentially.

They decided to head their wagons west after buying their first house here in June of 2016. Having done their research on Kanab, they thought it was a good fit for what they were looking for. “Good schools, low crime, outdoor recreation, beauty, Kanab fit all our criteria,” said Melissa.

They sold their Indiana businesses in January, and moved to Kanab this past summer. “We bought the first house here and then bought another. We actually bought and sold six properties and a business, quit our jobs and moved here, all in the last year!” Melissa recounted, adding that life had been a whirlwind in recent months.

“We’ve been trying to get out into the local communities as much as we can,” said Nate, adding that he’s enjoyed meeting so many new people. “We’ve already met some new friends, and are already coaching children’s soccer.”

Desert Air is a full service heating and cooling company, with over 20 years experience in residential, commercial, new construction, and industrial services. They also do sheet metal fabrication and custom duct design.

“Desert Air can do installations on furnaces and build custom ducts,” stated Nate. “We do new and existing construction, and can install Smart House designs. I also do humidifiers, thermostats and am natural gas certified. We’ll also be carrying some inventory.”

So Indiana’s loss is Utah’s gain – welcome to southern Utah McCoy family!

“I don’t think we’ll ever get tired of looking at this beauty,” commented Melissa McCoy as she motioned at the vermillion cliffs surrounding Kanab. “It feels like we were meant to be here.”
