Kane County Hospital is hosting an open house on Monday, July 10, introducing Dr. Bryson Hollingshead and his family. Please join us in the hospital lobby from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

Dr. Hollingshead was raised in Minersville, Utah, where he worked on a dairy farm, often helping his father (a newly retired school teacher) tend to the fields and driving a tractor at a young age – something he likes to brag about from time to time. His parents, Duke and Jill, instilled in him the value of hard and honest work, and he is thankful for the examples they are to him and his family.

Dr. Hollingshead attended Southern Utah University where he met his wife, Sarah, (also a small-town kid, this time from Parowan, Utah). He graduated magna cum laude in 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. He then moved to Henderson, Nevada, to attend medical school and graduated in 2014 from Touro University-Nevada.

Following medical school, Dr. Hollingshead completed his family medicine residency at the University of Kansas-Wichita Wesley Medical Center. While there, he was able to serve as chief resident and received extensive full spectrum medical training, including obstetrics, pediatrics, geriatrics and procedures such as colonoscopies, vasectomies, gynecological procedures and c-sections, to name a few.

An avid outdoorsman, Dr. Hollingshead looks forward to calling Kanab home. The small-town appeal had a strong pull for his family, and they are excited to get involved in the community, meet new people, and attend some KHS ball games. The Hollingsheads have three children who are pretty cute, if they do say so themselves. Izzy (7) is excited for second grade and loves working on her jump shot. Piper (4) loves nail polish and is excited to start dance. Dax (almost 2) is still mostly just along for the ride, but they’re sure he’ll be a San Francisco Giants fan before too long.
