Summer softball in full swing
Summer softball has been a fun tradition here for years… and this year is no exception. With five co-ed teams and three men’s league teams made up of players from Fredonia, Kanab and the Kaibab Paiute Tribe, weeknights at the Fredonia softball field are a blast!
The five co-ed teams, Houston’s, Buckskin, Dave Ainge Carpet, Thunder Mountain and the Fredonia Cowboys, play on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6 p.m. (AZ time). Presently, Thunder Mountain is in first place, but there is still a lot of ball to be played.
The three men’s teams, Kane County Sheriffs, Team Hodge and Buckskin/Thunder Mountain, play on Wednesday nights at 6 p.m. (AZ time). Team Hodge is in the lead for the season, but Buckskin/Thunder Mountain is right behind them.
Matt Hodges is the director of the softball program this year and is working on various improvements to the ball fields. He hopes for the program to continue to grow and bring more and more players and spectators to the games. Hodges donates a portion of the concession stand proceeds to the little league baseball program.
Come support your favorite player or team and get in on the fun! They are always looking for players. For more information, you can come to game night or contact Matt Hodges at 435-899-0775.
