Handel’s Messiah will be presented by the Canyon Singers and the Symphony of the Canyons on Sunday, April 9, at 7 p.m. in the Kanab High School Auditorium. Everyone is invited to come and sing along with Handel’s most successful and best-known oratorio.

Composed in the year 1741, Handel spent 24 days, from August, 22 to September 14. It was first performed at a concert given for charitable purposes at Dublin, Ireland, on April 13, 1742, Handel conducting the performance in person.

Sunday’s performance will include several solos and duets by Jane Cluff, Tiffany Unsworth, Linda Alderman, Jenny Bowman, Christine Burrick, Donna Bowman, Amy Gaskin, JD Maxwell, and Maria Wheeler. These individuals, along with the rest of the Canyon Singers and the Symphony of the Canyons, have spent many hours refining these timeless pieces.

We hope to see you there as we celebrate the coming of The Messiah in this most famous musical oratorio, under the direction of V Lee Barnet, conductor.

Admission if free.
