For 32 years, our local community orchestra, Symphony of the Canyons, has performed a spring concert, consisting of music taken from the world’s treasury of great symphonic music.

This year we are featuring Copeland’s Rodeo and Stravinsky’s Berceuse and Finale from the Firebird, both 20th century compositions.

We will also be dropping about 300 years back in time to perform two works from Antonio Vivaldi – Concerto for 2 Cellos, featuring Colter Lee and Anna Jensen, and Spring from the Four Seasons, featuring the violin as solo instrument. We will feature Mary Hess and Russell Wulfenstein on the violin, with Wulfenstein performing the third movement on mandolin.

The performance is at the Crescent Moon Theater, an intimate setting with limited seating. Admission will be $5 and proceeds will benefit the symphony.

Please come for an enjoyable evening of great music performed by our own community orchestra on Friday, April 22, at 7 p.m., at the Crescent Moon Theater.
