July fourth weekend accidents locally in both Utah and Arizona, resulted in one death, and injuries in another.

    Robert Bolin, 57, Seattle, WA was walking northbound on Highway 89 toward Kanabs at around 9:18 p.m. AZ time on July 1. While he was walking in the roadway, he was struck from behind by a juvenile. Bolin died from his injuries.

    Steve Stamson, 33,  was riding his Harley Davidson around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 3 with a group of people, (near the Best Friend''s lower turn-off ), when a brown pick-up passed in a no-passing area. It forced him off onto a road area that had some damage. He was taken to the Kane County Hospital, and later flown to Las Vegas for more treatment for his injuries. His passenger was treated at the Kane County Hospital.
