Sherry Mackelprang Noel passed away peacefully on January 12, 2016 in St. George, Utah at the age of 67. She was born on March 14, 1948 in Ogden, Utah to William Kent Mackelprang and Jean Garlick. Little Sherry “Belle” was the apple of her Daddy’s eye. She met Michael Earl Noel in seminary class at Ben Lomond High School and married on December 27, 1965. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden, Utah Temple.
Sherry’s favorite things in life were being with her family and helping those in need. She worked as a Registered Nurse for 40 years at Kane County Hospital and Southern Utah Home Care. She was elected to the Kane County Hospital Board this past November. Sherry was a passionate advocate for those suffering with alcohol and drug addiction.
She will be cherished and remembered by her loving husband Michael Noel; five children and spouses: Cameron Michael (Jean) Noel, Jennifer Lilith (Trevor) Stewart, Sara Michelle (Clayton) Williams, Elizabeth Marsha (Jordon) Sharp, and Samuel Kent (Amanda) Noel; and adored by her 20 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings: Greg Mackelprang, Stacy Mackelprang, and Danny Mackelprang.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her grandson Michael Keith Noel.
Sherry had a unique ability to touch people’s lives in a loving and compassionate way. She truly exemplified the love of our Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. She will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the Kanab Utah South LDS Church, 604 South 100 East, with viewings held at the Church on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Kanab Cemetery. Arrangements were made with Mosdell Mortuary.
