What a great event ‘Red Rocktoberfest’ was! Thanks for the large effort by the Kanab Arts Council for hosting the well-attended event. My husband and I had so much fun ... on a Saturday night in Kanab – go figure!

Thanks to the Arts Council, the Volunteer Center (Vicki Hooper always works hard to make it warm), the Kane County Travel Council, Kanab City and so many others, but even more important, the participating businesses!

It was wonderful after living in this area for 23 years to be able to enjoy a night out here. The music, food, interacting with locals and tourists in a warm community setting, were incredibly enjoyable for us. It’s what we both grew up with, but hadn’t occurred here.

Thanks to the businesses that participated – too many to list. But from Honey’s Marketplace to Sego’s Restaurant (and most businesses in between) people were buying things and enjoying a fun night out. They were enjoying the food, special discounts, music and ambiance of a community that want folks to have a good experience here – both locals and tourists!

My husband was talking with a couple from Washington state at the German dinner at Sego’s. They told him they were touring the parks in the area, and were ready to leave Kanab and go back home. But when they saw an advertisement for the Red Rocktoberfest, and an actual German dinner with a beer garden no less, they had to stay a few extra days and see what it was all about. They were not disappointed. They remembered traveling through Utah many years ago with our very peculiar liquor laws, and could not believe that they would actually have beer at an event. Kudos to Kanab!
