KHS volleyball stops Panguitch's win streak
Kanab knew their opening match of the season would be tough. Panguitch volleyball had an undefeated season last year with 19 consecutive wins. But last Wednesday when they met up, Kanab put a big stop to the Bobcats winning streak.
The Freshman and JV teams put up a good fight, but came up short. However, the varsity team was not going to allow a sweep on their home court. They came out on fire. The Cowgirls had perfect serving and almost perfect passing in their first game. They stomped the Bobcats with an ending score of 25-10.
The second game was a lot closer when Kanab gave up over five opening serves and had four net calls against them. They kept working hard and were able to get the win, 25-21.
Panguitch took a quick and decent lead in the third game. Kanab’s strong serves got them back in the game, however, it was just a little bit too late. Panguitch took the third game 25-20.
Kanab got back in their groove, served tough and ran their offense well in the fourth game. They ended up with the final win at 25-19.
Overall leading stats and highlights for the game go to KC Houston, as she pushed 25 out of 27 serves with four aces. Dakota Barnson pushed 14 out of 16 serves with six aces.
