The decision to cancel the race was made because of the low number of people who signed up to participate – at the time there were not more than six people registered for any of the distances. Anyone who registered before the cancellation will have their registration fee refunded.

The 5K and 10K courses have been flagged and will remain flagged until October 1 for any who wish to follow them. The Half-Marathon, which is part of the third stage of the Grand 2 Grand, will be flagged from September 23 through September 27 for anyone who would like to try it out.

The picnic at Jacob Hamblin Park is still scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 27.

All are invited to attend and enjoy lunch with the Grand 2 Grand runners who have just completed their 170-mile odyssey. Lunch is being provided free of charge by the local BLM Field Office in celebration of National Public Lands Day. The G2G runners will arrive at 1 p.m.
