Paria River Band performs at The Terrace on August 27
The Paria River Band features brothers Brent, Bruce, and Marc Fox and Marc’s son Tyler. The brothers have been playing together for about 15 years and Tyler for about 3 years. They call themselves the Paria River Band because they started playing together at the Paria Outpost open mic weekends. They have played in the Kanab Bluegrass Festival, a concert for the Lake Powell concert association, an opening act on the Friday night show as well as the street shows at the Western Legends Round-Up. They have played at the park for July 4th and 24th celebrations, the Gazebo and The Terrace.
Brent writes the songs and does most of the lead singing. He plays the guitar, mandolin and banjo. Bruce plays the bass. Marc sings and plays the guitar and banjo. Tyler sings and plays the guitar and drums. They play a mix of cover tunes that range from Classic Rock to Country, as well as several original songs. That’s what is called Americana these days!
They don’t play as much as they used to, but have promised they’d tune their instruments and practice at least one time before Wednesday night. So come on out and see these guys before they’re too old to play anymore!
Our pre-show features husband and wife team, Jill Miner and Jeff Davis. They met while singing in the “Messiah,” each having a solo part. It wasn’t long before they became a duo, calling themselves “The Double J’s.” They performed at the Kane County Fair and will be singing at Western Legends Round-Up. Recently they were both in the Kanab community musical hit, Cinderella, Jill as the Stepmother, and Jeff as Lionel.
Remember that date, Wednesday, August 27, for the Paria River Band, 8 p.m., will the Double J’s, 7:30 p.m.!
Check out our vendors on the lawn in front of the Western Legends Round-Up offices. They have delicious baked goods, handmade jewelry, artworks, and much, much more, starting at 6:30 pm!
The Kanab Terrace is located at the Kanab Heritage Plaza, also known as the “Old Middle School” grounds, on the curve across from Denny’s Wigwam in downtown Kanab. All Terrace events are free and open to the public. See www.facebook.com/kanabterrace for updates. Our last concert of the season will be September 3, with the Slickrock String Band.
