This is the final week for pilot car operations as the project is nearing completion. Weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., motorists can expect a minor delay as the area for pilot car operations has been shortened and will be eliminated when all guardrail has been installed. From 7:30 p.m. to 7 a.m., the roadway will be open to two-lane travel with reduced speeds.

The first coat of permanent pavement marking paint has been applied to the project. The final coat will be laid June 16.

All asphalt paving on the project is finished. The entire road through the project received two new lifts of asphalt. The new road has been designed to provide a safe driving surface, control water run-off and for ease of maintenance.

The final sections of guardrail and crash cushions will be installed this week. The construction team completed the final inspection of the project last week. The contractor will continue to finish minor operations as the project completion nears.
