Kanab Terrace Summer Concert Series begins May 28
It’s that time again, to shine the lights on our Kanab Terrace Summer Concert performances, and what a great line-up we have in store for you!
This season’s lineup includes some old familiar faces, and some new ones; some good ole time strummin’ and hummin’, foot stompin’ Cowboy ballads, along with some of the most beautiful, heavenly, orchestral music known to man! We have Cowboy Poetry, family variety fun time, and choral music… something for everyone!
We start our summer 2014 season with our Kane County “Youth Honor Orchestra”, a combination of our Kanab Elementary, Middle and High School students, on Wednesday, May 28. Our Youth Honor Orchestra will present a concert to interest audiences of all ages. Music performed will include selections from the 17th century all the way up to the present time: Telemann, Handel, Firework, “Clocks” made famous by the band Coldplay, the Halo Theme from the video game, Halo, Happy Together, Eleanor Rigby, Don’t Stop Believin’, You Raise Me Up, and other great selections from then and now.
DJ McLaren, an up and coming young violinist, will play the beautiful solo, Ashoken Farewell, from the Civil War PBS series.
This combination of elementary, middle and high school musicians bring together a winning combination of performance awards ranging from Excellent to Superior four years in a row. A number of these students study privately, as well as participating in their school music programs, and have come to realize that giving back of their musical talents is what it is all about.
Don’t miss this cavalcade of home-grown stars light up The Terrace stage on Wednesday, May 28, at 8 p.m.
