As I pause and reflect on the Mothers that have made my life more meaningful, I think about my beautiful Mother, with long red hair and dark eyes. She was the best baker, quilt maker, artist and musician that I personally know. We learn so many things from our Mothers. Thank you Mom for all the gifts you gave my siblings and me.

Many years ago, Julie Rogers and I paid tribute through sketch and text to honor another Mother, who was such a stalwart and great lady in the Glendale community. The fine lady was Ivy Maxwell.

On this day, let us reflect on Mothers, whoever they are, those who have touched our lives in a special way. Happy Mother’s Day to all Mothers – young mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, wives, daughters and granddaughters. Have a Happy Mother’s Day. You deserve the best.
