The Kanab 10K is coming up on May 10 at 7 a.m. We would love to see you there. You can run, you can walk, you can volunteer, or cheer. Just make sure you are there! The 6.2 mile scenic course, sanctioned by USA Track and Field, begins on Highway 89 at the historic Moqui Cave, meanders alongside Kanab Creek and the vermillion cliffs, and finishes at the Kanab City Park. Walkers and runners must complete the first five miles of the course in two hours or less. In honor of Mother’s Day, Kanab City Mayor Robert Houston will present every mother that crosses the finish line with a rose.

Late registration is still available. The $30 entry fee includes a groovy, technical racing T-shirt designed by Kanab artist Grace Buckman, a post-race breakfast feast which includes a variety of fresh fruit, mini muffins, donut holes, and a variety of juices compliments of Glazier’s Market, and a raffle ticket for our drawing. We have great merchandise and gift certificates for this year’s drawing including goodies from The Herb Basket, merchandise from Willow Canyon, i-Tunes gift cards, and gift certificates from The Junction, Rocking V, Parry Lodge, La Bella’s, Charlie’s Oasis, Spurs Grill, The Canyons Collection, Jake’s Chaparral, Escobar’s, and The Dog House. Custom trophies by Western Hills will be awarded three deep in each age division. Additionally, first place finishers in each age category will receive a gift certificate to the St. George Running Center.

Other sponsors who have helped fund the other aspects of the race include Kane County, Kanab City, Garkane Energy, Houston’s, Southern Utah News, South Central Communications, Honey’s, Best Friends, State Bank, Zions Bank, Western River Expeditions, Kanab United Drug, Zion Pharmacy, Adobe Fitness, Kane County School District, and Aiken’s Lodge. A big thank you to all of our sponsors!

This is one of Kanab’s premier events as many businesses and individuals converge to create a sense of community. We want everyone to experience it. So run, walk, volunteer, or cheer. We will see you there!
