Best Friends honored as one of the Zions Bank top businesses for 2013
Best Friends Animal Society has been named one of the “Zions Bank Speaking on Business’Top Businesses for 2013.” Best Friends was among 14 businesses honored by Zions Bank President and CEO Scott Anderson at a February 7 luncheon in Salt Lake City.
“Each one of the more than 300 businesses profiled in 2013 was fantastic, but this group of honorees stood out for their commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and quality,” said Chris Redgrave, host of the KLIZ 1310 AM radio program Speaking on Business. “These businesses are proof positive of the vibrant entrepreneurial community at work in Utah.”
Best Friends is a no-kill animal sanctuary that can care for as many as 1,700 animals at any one time. That includes horses, cats, dogs, rabbits, and birds. Best Friends also has a wildlife rehabilitation program. The sanctuary is Kane County’s largest employer with more than 550 employees, and it partners with over 1,000 rescue groups and shelters across the country.
Since its 1997 launch, Speaking on Business has highlighted more than 4,000 diverse businesses throughout Idaho and Utah. The show, airs on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7-8 a.m., and 5-6 p.m., and features a variety of businesses. Listeners might hear about a landscape design company, an international ski supplier, or even beekeeping.
“The Speaking on Business program is as unique as it is important,” said Anderson. “These companies are the life blood of our economy, creating new jobs in our communities. Speaking on Business showcases the very best in American innovation, and we’re proud to share these stories.”
