Architectural proposals sought for old Kanab Middle School
Kane County is examining the opportunity to remodel part or all of the existing old Kanab Middle School located in Kanab City, Utah.
Kane County is requesting proposals from qualified architectural firms to provide a facility program utilizing the existing building. The selected consultant will work with Kanab City, Kane County, Kane County School District, and others as directed by the Project Authority, to develop project scope planning, programming and construction phasing for the remodeling project.
In order to assist with the remodeling of the two existing facilities known as the old Kanab Middle School and Annex Building, whether in whole or in part, Kane County desires to hire a consultant to assist with the scope planning/phasing, schematic design, visual rendering and cost estimating for the remodeling project.
The current site consists of approximately 14 acres. The project includes two existing structures consisting of the old middle school at 13,755 sq. ft. and the annex consisting of 11,721 sq. ft. All building documents or information to be submitted by any prospective consultant is to be public record.
This facility will provide educational, business, arts support, conference space, recreational opportunities, and other community needs for Kanab City, Kane County and the surrounding areas. The facility is anticipated to house offices, classrooms and support space, business offices, meeting rooms and support space, laboratories and gallery space and an assembly/auditorium multiple use space.
The successful architectural firm shall provide all services commonly found when developing a professional facility program to include on site visits, formal information gathering meetings, space descriptions and requirements, cost estimate, and formal progress reports. The facility planning and programming shall also include coordination with, and input from, various city, county, school district, community members, interested parties and others as directed by the Project Authority through community meetings and other appropriate methods for inclusion in the programming plan.
