The 7th annual Kane County Business Summit will take place on Thursday, January 16, at the Stampin’ Up! manufacturing facility, located at 1400 S Highway 89A in Kanab. The one day event dubbed “Raising Kane,” starts at 5:30 p.m. and will be covering topics related to the economy and business trends with speakers from the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the Buy Local First program, and a keynote address by Dan Shilling, about Civic Tourism.

Dr. Dan Shilling has researched, written about, and practiced alternative forms of tourism since the early 1990s. In 2001, he received the Arizona Office of Tourism “Person of the Year” award. Dan regularly makes presentations to tourism programs, economic development groups, and cultural agencies. He is the former director of the Arizona Humanities Council, Dan has received numerous awards for his work in community development.
