Kane County Sheriff’s Deputy Marvin Hoyt was accidentally shot in both lower legs at the Kane County training shooting range on Monday, October 7, around noon.

According to Kane County Chief Deputy Tracy Glover, Deputy Hoyt was completing a training session with other law enforcement when a live round being removed from a gun accidentally discharged. The bullet went through Deputy Hoyt’s leg and then traveled into the other leg, causing damage to only soft tissue and muscle in both.
