The annual Kane County Relay for Life is upon us!  A time of hope, remembrance and celebration in an all night fundraising event will be held June 5-6 at the Kanab High School Track.

We have all been touched by cancer.  Relay for Life is the number one fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.  Funds raised at the event are used for research, patient programs, education and more!

In years past, the event has been a rather large production, requiring countless volunteers and sponsors.  This year, in light of the current economic situation, the event will be a more minimalist affair.  The hope that Relay for Life symbolizes will be the focal point of the event.  Beginning at 6:00 p.m., survivors will be celebrated as the heroes the truly are.  The event will continue through the night with the Luminaria beginning at approximately 9:30 p.m.  Luminaria to remember or honor loved ones are available at the event for $5.00, or contact your local team member.

With the Kanab Lion’s Club cooking up dinner and breakfast this year, attendees are sure to have very happy tummies!

It is not too late to put teams together!  See if your team can beat the reigning champions, Team Jennifer, in your fundraising efforts.  With their dedication and skills, it will be tough.

Contact Carol Kershaw at 644-3094 for information on how to help or to sign up your team.  You won’t want to miss this incredible event.
