Kanab 10K wants you to race for Jayci Glover
The Kanab 10K is coming up on May 11 at 7 a.m., and this year we are doing something special to support Jayci Glover. Jayci is the 12-year-old daughter of Heather and Coby Glover, and older sister to Halle (9) and Haven (6). She is in sixth grade at Kanab Elementary School, and is currently receiving chemotherapy treatment at Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Her medical team knows she has cancer, but they don’t know what kind or where it is in her body.
This year we invite you to register for the 10K and race for Jayci. Participants can walk or run the course; however, walkers and runners must complete the first five miles of the course in two hours or less.
If you would like to race for Jayci, you can purchase a wristband for $5 at packet pickup on May 10. The proceeds from the wristbands will go to the Glover family. The wristbands say RACE FOR JAYC, and will help show your support for Jayci and her family. If you haven’t done so yet, please register so you can join us on May 11 as we RACE FOR JAYC!
Registration forms are available at Adobe Fitness or online at www.adobefitness.com. Or register online, at www.runnercard.com. Entry forms and checks can be dropped off at Adobe Fitness or mailed to PO Box 203, Kanab, UT 84741.
Please make checks payable to the Kanab 10K. After April 30, the registration fee increases to $30, and day of race registration is $35.
The 6.2-mile scenic course begins on Highway 89 at Moqui Cave and meanders alongside Kanab Creek and the vermillion cliffs, and finishes at the Kanab City Park. The $25 entry fee includes a racing T-shirt designed by Kanab artist, Josh Baird, a post-race breakfast, compliments of Glazier’s Market, and a raffle ticket for our drawing.
Custom trophies by Western Hills will be awarded three deep in each age division. Overall male and female winners will receive a paid river trip compliments of Colorado River and Trail Expeditions.
This is one of Kanab’s premier events as many businesses and individuals unite to create a sense of community. This year, as we RACE for JAYC, that sense of community will be even stronger. We want everyone to experience it – so run, walk or volunteer! Be a part of the RACE for JAYC!
