Cowboys get outslugged by Parowan 14-8
It didn’t matter who head coach Mason Fox put on the mound for the Cowboys, the Parowan bats were on fire, as they pounded out 15 hits and scored 14 runs in a slugfest with Kanab. The Cowboys were game, plating eight runs of their own, but the Ram offense was too much in the 14-8 Parowan victory.
The visiting Rams scored four runs in the second and five more in the third, jumping out to a commanding 9-0 lead after three innings of baseball. After Parowan added another run in the top of the fourth, Kanab’s bats finally woke up, pushing five runs across the plate to make the score 10-5. But the Rams countered right back with three more in the fifth, to lead 13-5. The Cowboys did manage to score three more runs and left the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, but came up short in the end, 14-8.
Cody Glover went two for two, with a double and a single, while driving in four runs, to lead the Kanab offense. Luke Crosby knocked in two runs with a double, while Madison Knape went two for three. Brandon Jenson didn’t have a hit, but he scored three runs for the Cowboys. Chase Adams picked up the other Cowboy hit and scored one run.
Colby Warren and Dakota Veater hit home runs for the Rams, while Jake Topham had a triple and got the win for Parowan.
This week, Kanab hosts Milford on Tuesday and travels to Enterprise on Friday.
