Chief Master Sergeant Denny C. Brown
Chief Master Sergeant Denny C. Brown is the Superintendent of the 940th Operations Group, Beale Air Force Base, California. Chief Brown serves as the commander’s senior advisor on all matters concerning the health, morale, welfare and effective management of the enlisted force. He provides leadership and guidance in organizing, training, equipping and mobilizing the group to meet home station and expeditionary mission requirements.
Chief Brown grew up in Kanab, UT. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1987 and transferred to the Air Force Reserve in 1998. His background includes various duties in communications and operations, including managing base level programs and serving in the USSTRATCOM Joint Command Center at Offutt AFB. His assignments include bases in Louisiana, Nebraska and California and he served overseas in England.
Chief Brown deployed in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM in 2003. Before assuming his current position, he served as Superintendent of the 701st Combat Operations Squadron at March AFB, CA. He was selected to the position of Group Superintendent in May 2012.
His military decorations and awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with two bronze oak leaf cluster, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with bronze oak leaf cluster, Air Force Achievement Medal with bronze oak leaf cluster, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with “V” device, silver and two bronze oak leaf clusters, and the Air Force Recognition Ribbon.
In his civilian life, he is employed with the California Department of Water Resources where he leads an engineering section that is responsible for administering large construction contracts.
Chief Brown is the son of Gail Cram Brown and the late Mark H. Brown of Kanab.
